Common veterinary emergencies

There are many kinds of veterinary emergency, from road traffic accidents to poisoning or attack by other animals.

Here’s a list of the common veterinary emergencies the VET&GO team are used to treating:

  • Wounds and bleeding caused by an accident
  • Ingestion of toxic substances
  • Injuries caused by fighting
  • Bites and stings
  • Seizures
  • Vomiting and diarrhoea
  • Allergic reactions

If your pet suffers one of the above vet emergency, you should try to remain calm so you can think clearly. Call your local vet if it’s open, or if not call VET&GO on +32 2 720 00 24. Whilst seeing your pet in distress can be very upsetting, you’ll help them more if you take appropriate action as fast as possible.
