Specialising in emergencies, our veterinary centre in Walloon Brabant welcomes cats and dogs, as well as more exotic pets, listed among the so-called New Companion Animals (NAC). These may include rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and chinchillas, but also tortoises, mice, canaries, parakeets, ferrets, and more.
Driven by a team of passionate professionals, the VET&GO Walloon Brabant veterinary emergency centre brings together Veterinary Care Assistants (VCAs), veterinarians, and surgeons to ensure quality service, from taking the animal into care to its return home.
As devoted as it is experienced, this team shares the same core values: quality of care, respect for animals, management of their pain, and compassion towards their owners.
Thanks to an experienced team trained in emergency care, VET&GO centres can intervene in most veterinary medicine disciplines: cardiology, surgery, dermatology, medical imaging, oncology, ophthalmology, traumatology, and more. These wide-ranging skills enable the team to carry out a complete and detailed clinical examination of the animal, and even to request additional tests (X-rays, ultrasounds, blood analyses, etc.) in order to identify the source of the problem and provide the most appropriate and fastest solution to relieve it.
Since some problems arise outside the opening hours of your usual practitioner's practice, the veterinary centre in Walloon Brabant offers you an on-call solution. Our team thus takes over from your veterinarian in the evenings after 7:00 PM, as well as overnight until 7:30 AM, and on weekends and public holidays: qualified contacts ready to assess the severity of the situation, advise you on what to do, and, if necessary, direct you to an emergency consultation.
Up-to-date opening hours and prices are available on our practical info page.
Beyond obvious injuries, certain symptoms should alert you: continuous vomiting, poor coordination of movements, difficulty breathing, and so on. Faced with unusual behaviour, check your pet's vital signs: take its temperature and make sure it is around 38.5°C; take its pulse on the inner part of the thigh (60 to 120 beats per minute for large dogs and 120 to 160 for an animal weighing less than 15 kilos); finally, monitor its breathing (8 to 20 breaths per minute for an adult, and up to 30 for a puppy). Feel free to check out the other tips from VET&GO veterinarians!
As prey to many animals, rodents tend to hide their state of health in order to protect themselves. This characteristic means you need to be particularly vigilant about any change in appearance or behaviour. Check your pet's coat (is the fur duller or more ruffled? Do you notice excessive loss in certain areas?) and look at the condition of the animal's paws (inflammation of the pads, swelling).
If you notice unusual behaviour or an abnormal physical sign in your rodent, contact VET&GO immediately for an emergency consultation. Our team is trained to diagnose and treat emergencies in small animals, with particular attention to their well-being and swift recovery.
